The City of Rancho Santa Margarita will be hosting the 9th Annual Celebrating Family and Friends New Year’s Eve event 4:30-9:30 p.m. in Central Park on Thursday, Dec. 31st. This alcohol-free celebration will include entertainment, food booths and fun for the whole family. Admission is free! Stop in and see the Children’s Art Contest in the hallways of the Bell Tower Regional Community Center. The Center will feature drawings, collages, and fiber work from children throughout the community. It’s not too late to enter!

PJ Storytime

Fun story telling time for children ages 5 and up. Great time to relax and listen to stories with giant teddy bears this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the children’s section of the RSM Library. To celebrate it’s Grand Re-Opening the Rancho Santa Margarita Ruby’s will be serving free a la Carte Cinnamon Roll French Toast or a free RubyBurger with French Fries from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. TODAY Sunday, November 1st.

For more than 26 years, Ruby’s Diner has been offering a glimpse back to the 1940s with the bright red vinyl booths, white Formica tables, soda fountains and colorful Coca-Cola posters that echos the swing era. This Sunday next offers a chance for the community to become re-aquatinted with the classic Ruby’s Diner that is now company owned and operated.

This Friday, the Rancho Santa Margarita Library is host to the International Film Series. The Dinner Game, which is a comedy and french film from the creator of La Cage Aux Folles, will be shown with a discussion following. This film highlights a snobbish group of friends who compete to bring the biggest fool to a dinner party. Question is who is the real fool as the tables begin to turn and the comedy spins. It is a PG-13 movie for langauge, that has won three Cesar awards. Refreshments will be served.

This week the Rancho Santa Margarita Library has a plethora of Cultural events and lectures from Coffee Night Wednesday night, to the Great California Shakeout Thursday Morning and International Film night on Friday. All information for these activities is available at the library website.

For tomorrow night, the RSM library hosts a fun Coffeehouse Night with local musicians who will be performing acoustic sets of original music, as well as coffee and refreshments that will be served. The event starts at 7 running till 8:30 this Wednesday the 14th of October. This event is for ages 16 and up, and takes place at 30902 La Promesa in RSM.

October 3rd is the Annual Fall Garage Sale from 7am-12pm hosted by yours truly. Every year the Melinda Heights area has two huge annual garage sales with over a hundred participants. This fall as always the advertising and street prep for the garage sale is already taken care of for you the day of by my team. All that is needed on your part is to go through and find the items you want to clear out, have it ready the day of and RSVP for the event. To RSVP simply send an email to margo@margomurray.com with Fall Garage Sale in the subject line and your name and address in the message. Signs will be up early on Saturday and Free Donuts will be provided to all participants who RSVP for the event. Hope to see you all out there!

The Library of Rancho Santa Margarita is host to a great many story times and special readings that provide incredible enrichment and fun for the whole family! This Saturday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. the Library hosts the nationally renowned Judy Garland impressionist Elaine Horn in a story telling of the Wizard of Oz. The program is for all ages and includes reenactments from the 1939 movie with a photo opportunity at the end.

Coming up this September 19th - Bubblemania is back! All tots and parents are invited for a fun morning of bubbles and craft making! All sorts of fun bubble making apparatus will be available for the children to have a great time! This event is geared for children seven and under, and will take place at the Beach Club from 10 am to noon. Registration is at the Beach club and tickets are $5 per child (no charge for children under 1 year or for grown ups). No cash or credit cards are accepted but checks may be made out to Samlarc. Keep in mind that the last day to register will be Friday, September 18th at noon, and that there will be no day of registration available.
